Sophia Noriega, a senior at Chandler High, won the Division 1 girls title in the 3,200 meters in a lifetime-best 11:00.31 at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Red Mountain High. Noriega, competing in the 3,200 for only the second time this season, lowered her previous-best performance of 11:12.06 from March 22 at the 84th Nike Chandler Rotary Invitational. Noriega also contributed to the Wolves finishing 16th in the 4x800-meter relay final in 10:37.43.
